TECOS (TECHNICAL EDUCATION COMMUNITY OUTREACH SCHEME)
The Technical Education Community Outreach Scheme (TECOS) comprises of a public private citizen partnership based provisions of Training and Technical education services to the poor and needy segments of society in Delhi. As Department of Training and Technical Education is focused on policy development, financing, planning and delivery of training and Technical education services. In order to fulfill the direction of developing, maintaining and improving the training and technical Education services to the poorer sections of the society to earn their live hood through self/wage employment. TECOS is part of overall scheme of Delhi Government efforts in engaging with the community through the Bhagidari-Sanjha Prayas initiative.
The purpose of TECOS is therefore enabling the poorer sections of Delhi’s society to acquire good quality live hood skills. The Target groups of Beneficiaries are the people living in slum clusters under poor living conditions and the relocated population who disconnected between the sources of live hood and place of residence.
The Aim and Subsidiary Objectives of the TECOS are: -
- To deliver training programmers for uplifting the quality of life of the target group of persons by enabling them to gain self/wage employment.
- Supports models of training and Technical Education for service delivery through local communities, in a manner which increases access to services and support for community participation.
- Build self reliance and commitment for training and technical Education at a community and personnel level through development of stakeholders and self help initiatives.
- Enable complementary between the community and Training & Technical Education services, which ensures the continuity of services and efficiency in the use of local recourses.
- Assist NGO’s in providing a range of priority Training and Technical Education for enhancing the quality of citizen services and boosting the rate of economic growth.
